Let's start with Poland, Poland Maine founded by Moses Emery in 1795, is located in Androscoggin county. It is the home to the house of the Poland Spring. In 1796 the Poland Spring house was opened as a hotel for others to stay. Moses was given the role of naming the town Poland because of his founding. He named it Poland because of a melody called “Poland”. The grandson of its owner claimed the spring and its contents had cured him of chronic dyspepsia and that caused many others to make it a major attraction and made them drink from its water. In 1975 on july 4th the Poland spring house burnt down. Today where that house was stands the poland spring Inn and resort. Along with a golf course and the Poland spring water bottling plant.
